Mr Larry Kwok, SBS, JP

Former Chairman of the IPCC (2014-2018)

Mr Larry Kwok is a practising lawyer and currently a partner of Kwok Yih & Chan (an Asia Pacific Legal 500 law firm). Prior to founding Kwok Yih & Chan, he was the Managing Partner, Asia Strategy & Markets of King & Wood Mallesons, and was the Managing Partner, Greater China of Mallesons Stephen Jaques.

Mr Kwok is regularly cited by international legal publications as a leading lawyer in capital markets, corporate and M&A practice. He graduated from the University of Sydney, Australia with double bachelor's degrees in accounting/economics and laws respectively as well as a master's degree in laws. He also obtained the Advanced Management Program diploma from the Harvard Business School. Larry is qualified both as a lawyer and accountant.

His practice covers regulatory investigations, capital markets, corporate finance, securities and M&A.

Mr Kwok also has a remarkable record of leadership and experience in public and community services. He is currently a Justice of the Peace appointed by the Hong Kong Government and has also been awarded the Silver Bauhinia Star by the Hong Kong Government. He has served regularly on Government boards and committees. He is currently a member of the Committee on Real Estate Investment Trusts of the Securities and Futures Commission and the Hospital Governing Committee of Prince of Wales Hospital. Previously, he served as Chairman of the Transport Advisory Committee and Independent Police Complaints Council, Convenor of the Disciplinary Appeals Committee of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and Vice-Chairman of the Consumer Council.
